MANUAL AND MANIPULATION THERAPY

Manual and Manipulation Therapy

Manual therapy (MT) is a specialty area of physiotherapy that requires advanced studies of the musculoskeletal system and its neurophysiology. The assessment approach requires deductive reasoning leading to a differential diagnosis of the problem area. The treatment approach is determined by the assessment finding and can include joint mobilizations, joint manipulations and myofascial stretching techniques such as proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF).

MT is applied in all types of conditions including spinal pain and dysfunction, peripheral joint pain and dysfunction, whiplash, sports related injuries, sprains and strains.
