Yoga Therapy
The origins of yoga can be traced back to northern India over 3 thousand years ago. The word yoga means to ‘unite’ or ‘yolk’ and applies to the unification of the mind and body and the individual consciousness to universal consciousness.
The Yoga Sutras teach 8 limbs of yoga; Yamas, Niyamas, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana and Samadhi. Each limb has a unique role in our health and well being and can significantly change how we feel and move in our mind and body.
Yoga can calm the mind, ease anxiety, reduce stress, reduce pain, improve mood, increase physical strength and mobility and improve lung capacity.
